Why Does My Shoulder Pop When I Rotate It

There are many causes of painful popping in the shoulder. Labral tears, rotator cuff tears and even dislocations can all lead to this type if discomfort when rotating your arm inward against resistance or outward away from it’s socket joint called “the glenohumeral rhythm.” The sound that occurs due these injuries is known as ‘popping’ because there sometimes seems like an explosions-like result after certain movements where you would expect silence based off what we know about FM.
